01 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They serve to remember your preferences, keep your session signed in, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience. There are different types based on their purpose (essential, functional, analytical, advertising) and based on their duration (session, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent, kept for a defined period).
02 Similar technologies
In addition to cookies, websites and applications may use similar technologies: localStorage and sessionStorage (local browser storage), web beacons or tracking pixels, fingerprinting (identification based on device characteristics), and device identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android). In this policy, "cookies" generically refers to all these technologies where applicable.
03 Essential cookies we use
Spark uses only essential cookies necessary for the spark.app website to function correctly: a session cookie to keep your session signed in (duration: until you close the browser), a language preference cookie to remember whether you chose Spanish or English (duration: 1 year), a CSRF protection cookie to prevent cross-site request forgery attacks on forms (duration: 1 hour). These cookies do not require your explicit consent because they are technically necessary for the site to function.
04 No tracking or advertising cookies
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other type of analytical or advertising tracker on spark.app. We do not sell user behavioral data to data brokers. We do not use cookies to create advertising profiles. We deeply value your privacy and consider that pervasive tracking is incompatible with a wellness product.
05 Third-party cookies
In the context of the spark.app website, we do not embed third-party content (YouTube videos, Google maps, social media widgets, etc.) that could set cookies without your consent. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which may set a technical cookie for delivery optimization; however, this does not involve identifiable personal data. The Spark mobile application does not use third-party cookies.
06 Cookies in the mobile application
The Spark mobile application (iOS and Android) does not use cookies in the strict sense, since mobile apps use other storage mechanisms. However, we store locally on your device: authentication tokens to keep your session signed in, your language and notification preferences, phrases and sounds downloaded for offline mode, anonymous identifiers for technical analysis. We do not use IDFA or AAID for advertising tracking.
07 How to control cookies
You can block or delete spark.app cookies at any time from your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to: see which cookies you have and delete them individually, block all cookies from a specific site, block third-party cookies, delete all cookies when closing the browser, browse in private or incognito mode that does not save cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from functioning correctly, including sign-in and persistence of preferences.
08 Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy occasionally to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable regulations. The "Last updated" date in the header will always indicate the current version. We will notify you of significant changes via a visible notice on the site. Continued use of the site after changes implies acceptance.
